March 30, 2024 - Dazzles with a vibrant cherry and sophisticated cedar aroma, accented by intriguing notes of graphite and pencil lead, embodying the quintessential Cabernet character. On the palate, these elements converge in a harmonious blend, with smooth tannins and a depth that speaks to its meticulous crafting. It's a wine that offers a classic yet nuanced expression, leaving a positive impression with its balanced interplay of fruit, earth, and mineral nuances.

December 20, 2023 - From auction, pristine cork. Splash decanted off minimal fine sediment. Blackcurrant, some tobacco, beginning to move beyond the primary stage. Nicely balanced fruit, fresh acidity and integrated tannins, slightly bitter on the finish. Nice mid weight BDX, just lacking that extra gear right now.

July 29, 2023 - We really enjoyed this wine. Opened in the middle of a meal of German beef tenderloin, as due to a surprise visit the 97 L'arrivet Haut Brion was empty sooner than later. Therefore pop and pour. My worries that without a decant this juice could be rather unwelcoming were gone with the first sip. Open for business straight away. No tannic, astringent hard edges. Smooth, balanced and easy going enough to please everyone at the table. Saved a bit to try later on day 2. This wine seems to be in it's optimal window at the moment.
On day 2: fragrant nose of cassis, wood fully integrated, body medium+. Very juicy.

June 3, 2023 - Last of 3 bottles. Fully mature, medium-bodied and elegant - and only 12.5% alcohol. Should have bought more of this. Wouldn´t keep it for too long though.

April 28, 2023 - Overall: good, integrated, but still largely primary wine. Hard to say how much better it will get but I suppose with the tannins, acid, and fruit still present there is yet potential. Improved with air.

Appearance: medium translucent ruby with color left on the sides of the glass when swirled

Nose: blackberry and blueberry, violets, subtle mushrooms, blue cheese, subtle leather, chalk, pepper, subtle smoke

Palate: medium acid, medium body, medium tannins. Raspberry, blackberry, green apple, blue cheese comes out on the palate. Classic Bordeaux style and probably started with more structure compared to the the more fruit-forward “modern” style of 2019.

Finish: dry, maybe a touch bitter, medium length and pleasant overall

March 18, 2023 - Very balanced Bordeaux with more focus to the fruits than usual with Claret in this pricerange.

March 12, 2023 - This bottle was significantly better than the last one we drank 8 months ago. That beautiful Margaux perfume along with elegant, yet rich dark fruit and a long finish. This outshone a Rauzan-Segla 2006 drunk alongside but not by too much. Both were a very good spot.
