October 22, 2021 - As per my note in Oct 2018, this is now fully integrated. Is my palate getting less demanding with age? I got none of the dryness and tough tannins. The blackcurrant is definite, with good acidity. Lovely finish and length. I think this is at it's peak and may well stay there for some time yet. Decanted 2 hours.

plum and cassis. dark chocolate and graphite. stones, some dark earth and ripping tannin. decent stuff. needs a lot of time

April 17, 2021 - This is starting to show a little something on the nose after extended airing. That said, this is pretty dry and subdued, but has a nose of black currant, blackberry and new French oak with a hint of mint. Dry.

March 7, 2021 - Served with roast beef. Decanted for two hours. Lovely blackcurrant on the nose. Tannin still present but not obtrusive. Reasonably rich cassis with nice acid. Medium finish. Drinking well and good QPR.

February 14, 2021 - A sturdy, a bit rustic, but still very good Pauillac from an OK vintage. Still deep dark red color, almost opaque at the center. Fine nose - decanted for 2 hours - of dark cherries, blackberries and a pronounced tone of vanilla and coffee. The upbringing is a bit too heavy. lots of new oak here. Full bodied attack with fine fruit (cherries and blackberries), smooth tannins, fine acidity, and a nice aftertaste dominated by vanilla and coffee. Quite one-dimensional and thus a bit boring, even though it clearly is a good wine. Good to drink now, but will keep well for another decade. However, I doubt that it will get much more interesting.
