Community Tasting Notes 5

January 26, 2024 - Very good, but not worth the price. Maybe too early to drink ? The smell was so much better than the rather short taste / after taste. Good overall, but guys like Fulligni or Casanove deliver better value for money.

April 2, 2023 - Tasting side by side a gorgeous vintage of 2015 and difficult, marked by exhaustive draught 2017. 2015 was made from three vineyards of Pian dell’Orino, Cancello Rosso and Pian Bassolino situated from 330 to 500 meter of altitude. Wine aged for 46 months in large Slavonian barrels. Medium garnet, ruby hue. Complex and seductive aromas of sweet herbs, black cherries, violets, tobacco, undergrowth, cassis. Full body, palate is generous with ripe fruits, herbal, smoky and balsamic hints, finely structured tannins.

January 11, 2022 - Off bottle. Overly roasted and bitter burnt fruit (heavy with no freshness). Nothing like my prior one.

December 31, 2021 - Like the 2012 and 2013 this is surprisingly accessible young. Delicately light with silky polished tannins and great intensity. Potent cherry up front with dusty earth, leather tobacco and mineral on the end. A slightly rustic pine/wood note lingers throughout. Even with the hype they heave this producer is underrated (at least price wise).

December 5, 2021 - The potential is feasible but it seems the 2015 is currently a bit closed and I will wait 2-3 years before pulling the next cork.
