    August 24, 2021 - Prepared sample.

Beautiful nose that is a mix of fun, fruity, limey notes and a more serious, savoury, stoney, mineral character. Slightly brooding.
Palate has a solid acid-based structure, quite powerful. Plenty of fresh lime, lemon, giving way to layers of slight savouriness that will come through in time. Long finish. Layered. Young.

May 22, 2021 - Utmärkt med potential att växa hur mycket som helst. Blommor och citrus, och kanske inte så spritsig som många unga viner från Nahe annars kan te sig.

April 18, 2021 - Really expressive with everything you could desire for freshness and at the same time a more masculine aromas of juicier yellow fruit, clear butter and this rocky / against the sea feel that creates joy. full-bodied and quite masculine wine on the palate with juicy, but pronounced fresh yellow fruit, citrus peel, juicy runny pulp, and clear nice salts. Very nice acidity refreshes, especially in the middle part and gives the very good vintage this salty, light pepper tone that lasts for over a minute. Missing a little cons. In the middle, but it can recover. Great Felsenberg.

February 14, 2021 - Infanticide on a 375 because I wanted a pulse on the 2019s. Wow. Super crisp with peel the paint off the wall acidity (in a good way). Slight citrus on the tongue with loads of stone and minerals on the palate. The finish is long and lingering- you can still taste the wound up flavors 30-40 seconds after each sip.

Excellent now but obviously primal. I’m excited about the future of this wine and the 2019 vintage as a whole.

    February 3, 2021 - What Keitakers said!(comment below mine).

I would have liked it a touch drier and it would have really sent me.

January 16, 2021 - 2019 Donnhoff GGs+GK friends (Zoom, Chicago, IL): Nose: The nose is wide open and giving with a fatter take to the fruits with peaches, apples, pears, orange blossoms, nectarines, herbs, jasmine, saline, and crushed rocks. There is excellent depth and expression with a lot of freshness to back up the slightly forwardness.

Taste: The feel is Medium bodied with racy, high acidity. The feel has a slightly fatter quality with peaches, apples, pears, orange blossoms, herbs, jasmine, and crushed rocks.

Overall: This is a lovely, young Donnhoff GG. There is some baby fat that could use a few years to shed itself but there is a great amount of balance and poise right now.

January 15, 2021 - First a coravin pour, they pulled the cork and tasted over several hours and with pan-seared red snapper and beurre blanc with which it went marvelously. Recent purchase I wanted to try as I heard a lot about the 2019 German Rieslings but have not previously had a chance to try any given the pandemic. This is obviously quite young and will evolve favorably over the next several years to a decade. That said, I thought this drank really nicely. For what it’s worth, my wife who never seems to like Riesling, actually enjoyed this and asked for second glass. Crushed stone, flint/gunpowder, white peach, pear, white flowers and a saline finish are the dominant flavors and aromas. The acidity is high but not bracing. I think all the 2018’s I have tasted from Dönnhoff were brighter, bracing and so tart as to be hard to drink without a lot of air and therefore more in need of longer aging. The finish was very long. I like this a lot but not as much as some of the critics may have indicated. Certainly will age well and for a fairly long time but I would say less than the 2018 which I think is different than what I have been reading. I view this as being in its prime in the 10-15 year window, not a lot longer.

January 4, 2021 - Here we are again!
Just pnp this too young wine beauty cause I have been thinking about smoky minerals and need a strong mineral driven white for food!
Great smell of gun powder , spice and a little zesty yellow fruit,
austere showing on the palate, needs some more air to reveal some aromas, but with this more aeration here we are again in the crushed stone-ligue of dry young Riesling, a barrel full of gun powder, some spice of crushed stones from a mountain stream in winter, really no fruit there, maybe some citrus zest, but all in the background, this bottle is no way for acid or mineral snowflakes, every sip drags the lips painfully, but hey........ this is Riesling, from one of the very best estates!
Take it or leave it, no compromise available!
    Hold!
This will open in about 3-5 years imho, think this is one of the best vintages from Dönnhoffs Felsenberg so far!
    *(***- +?), around 92,93(+) potential
U P D A T E from 1/6/2021: last quarter of this bottle 48 hours later, only stayed in a fridge, no sealing or pumped out air,
nothing has changed significantly, a monolithic showing still!
    maybe 93-95 potential!

October 21, 2020 - Jetzt schon gut trinkbar, sehr mineralisch und Zitrusfrüchte erkennbar. Säure sehr verhalten. Hat sehr viel Potenzial.
