January 16, 2021 - From glass. Still pretty dark. Nose of sharp dark fruit, somewhat closed. Similar palate, also leathery, but terrific flushness, breadth, and also freshness. Acidity and tannin in balance, high alcohol not noticeable at all. Not a heavy wine - a large wine. Almost ready (maybe?), but not too early, either.

August 3, 2017 - This continues to improve and probably is at its best. Its evolution over the years has been interesting. Dark, sweet - noting the high alcohol content - dark fruits, soft tannins and balanced acidity.

September 10, 2016 - Heavily extracted, dark , powerful wine. Alcoholic but well balanced fruit and acidity. Much more interesting than my last bottle.

April 8, 2016 - Ha! Gelernt!

    Gross!

DAS ist Barbera in Höchstform, schwarzbeerig, süssfruchtigen, Honig, Teer... Einfach wirklich beeindruckend!

March 25, 2016 - This (last) bottle seemed the most obdurate, but yielded some pleasure over the course of the evening.

January 2, 2016 - Dark, thick garnet. Oaky aromas. Rich fruit, fairly heavy texture, acidity peeks through. A bit hot on the finish. Got more enjoyment than expected, since it seemed rather balanced. Definitely not a rustic Barbera and not showing decline.

December 29, 2015 - Very powerful. Block buster. Over-extracted with an alcohol of 15.5. Would have been better if it wan't quite so "In your Face".

July 10, 2015 - Dunkelviolett...

    Also, warten, warten, warten...

July 5, 2015 - Red colour with a brickred hue. Nice maturity on the nose showing blackberries, blueberries, minerals and earth tones. Very powerful and fiery palate showing mature morello cherries in a well-balanced style and a nice long finish. Relly fine right now, but seems to have a bit more in the next couple of years.
