Flot vin.

August 18, 2022 - This domaine in Saint-Jean de Muzols, which owns 22 hectares of vineyards spread across the southern portion of Saint-Joseph and down into Cornas and Saint-Péray, separated from the Cave de Tain in 2007.

Thomas Farge, Guy's son, took over two years ago, after returning to the domain in 2015 from a career in international management that saw him building cinemas in South America.

For the red wines, Farge does a pre-fermentation cold soak, uses a lot of whole clusters and does some extended maceration but with gentle extraction. "I want to have wines that are good to drink on release," he says. "The goal is to give consumers a good moment." Farge's top cuvées are his Cornas Reynard, from 40- to 50-year-old vines, and his Saint-Joseph Passion de Terrasses, from a parcel planted in 1904.

"The 2018 Saint Joseph Terroir De Granit was not destemmed and will spend a year in 400-liter used barrels. It's another exotic, juicy wine from Farge that has bright blueberry, mulberry, and boysenberry fruits, lots of spring flower and minty notes, medium body, a rounded, pure texture, and terrific balance. It's slightly more rounded and approachable than the Passion de Terrasses yet is in the same ballpark." 96 JD

September 19, 2021 - By the glass. Based on a powerful syrah grape, smoked and spicy. Lack of elegance and excess of power. Granite I could not find anywhere but still I like it considering what it is.Typical and tasty wine.
