  February 23, 2024 - difficult wine to rate but very interesting wine to taste.
  It's always intriguing to taste limestone soil Riesling and this, clearly, is a prime example.
  This is a highly extracted way, but I don't mean this in a negative way.
  At 5 years of age, this is still very austere with pronounced phenolic character but with aromatic intensity to match. Reminds me of the Grosset Polish Hill with its austerity, but this has more aromatic intensity.
  If I had any of this in my cellar, I would leave it for 5-10 years before opening the next bottle. Otherwise, I would drink it in the spring with white asparagus and hollandaise sauce.
  It needs something to polish it now as it's quite raw. Impressive but raw.

  November 18, 2023 - Nice complex fruit structure with lots of white flowers and soft citrus notes in the nose. On the palate more yellow and orange fruits, quite intense but not over extracted, some soft petrol, almond and honey notes in the background. Precise acidity. Great overall complexity and a nice overall balance. The finish is long and dry.
  Young, a bit too young now, let it rest for another couple of years and start drinking from 2025 onwards. Will easily last 10-15 years. (IG)

  July 21, 2023 - HDH auction at avec (Chicago, IL): #20-20, 13% abv. Heady, intense, and chewy riesling. A little Mosel-like quality to the tart fruit with more lifted minerally apple notes, lime leaf, and grapefruit peel. Plenty of acidity and cut here, but lots of weight as well. Really compelling as a fresh, young wine.

  May 6, 2023 - Lunch at Jade Court (Chicago, IL): #20-20, 13% abv. Heaps of stuffing here. The nose has a very nice floral aroma, as well as fruit that is more on the white side of the spectrum. This drinks quite lean for a Keller GG, and it's more a study on the sheer amount of mineral chew that you can put into a wine. Intense, white-fruited acidity as well. Decent now, but probably better with a few more years for all the sharp edges to round themselves out.
