December 8, 2023 - Not something to rave about. It is on the leaner side and doesn't offer much exciting elements. Something that would pair well with food but not something worth contemplating.
November 12, 2023 - Drinking really well and seems sturdy enough to continue. Wish I had more. Cheers!
June 13, 2023 - Minerally and very austere, savoury and dry. Acidic, brackish with a faint sulphury note it lacked fruit and the only saving grace was a coating of butter on the mid-palate. Thin, one-dimensional and showing poorly. CHP 83 pts
May 27, 2023 - Popped and poured over 3.5 hours nise was quite funky which my wife actually said was just heavy yeast, this dissipated over time with sour apple also showing on the nose, flavors have this plus some lemon, acidity really showed after a couple hours, was a little harsh in the mouth but not in a negative way, medium length finish, nice paired well with fish and chips
April 15, 2023 - First bottle from a case bought a few years back following Neal Martin’s raving review. Pale yellow, pronounced acidity but well integrated, precise, feels like 3g dosage but actually it’s 8g so this must be seriously lean to start with. Well done in that sense as the wine feels very cohesive.
While this is pleasant to drink if you like your wines more on the lean side, I am not getting much depth or excitement here, but then I strongly prefer BdN over BdB in general. Drink at your leisure over the next 10 years.
September 18, 2022 - A wonderful and elegant English sparkling wine. Nose starting to show maturity with chalky minerality, yeast and lemon pie. Fine bubbles. Sharp acidity, this could develop for many years to come. Beautiful palette of candied lemon and stony minerality. Served with scallop carpaccio, it was a winner.
June 18, 2022 - Nose is pronoucned with yeast, toast, mineral and baked red apple. High acidity.
June 3, 2022 - Premium wine £85. All estate fruit. 8g RS.
Super lemony nose, lemon meringue pie.
Firm acidity, there's a coiled power here, intense followed by a lovely meaty smoky marmite quality.
Quite challenging but also very impressive. I bet this will age superbly.
February 26, 2022 - Straw yellow. Brioche, wet stone and tangerine dominating on the nose. Dry. Small, plentyful bubbles. Crisp acidety. Citrus, green apples and minerals on the palate. Long and citric exit. A really fantastic and fresh BftB BdB from South Downs🍾🥂
February 20, 2022 - Great improvement from first taste; acidity has mellowed and the nice citrus and apricot flavours are more obvious, will get even better in few years
