December 19, 2016 - This was dark garnet colored, medium bodied, was a bit tight and closed the first evening, being more open and approachable the second day when the smoke, creosote, black olive and herb layer gave way to the dark berry and tangy black cherry fruits, with notes of cedar, black tea and clove spice turning to fine tannins on the crisp clean moderate finish.

December 14, 2016 - Monthly Tasting Group HWS #114; Bordeaux: St. Emilion Grand Cru Classé (By me): Beautiful bouquet with red and dark berries and sweet spices. On the palate creamy red berry fruits, some coffee, juicy fruits, good acidity and ready now. Although this wine will still be lovely around 2020, the drinking window which tells ultimately 2040 now, is quite ridiculous. Nice wine. 88 - 89

May 25, 2016 - Mature, this ready to drink charmer opens with truffle, wet forest floor and hints of plum in the nose. Silky in texture, but short, and slightly dusty in the finish with an olive and herbal tone, there is no reason to age this any longer.

March 10, 2015 - The 2006 Chateau Corbin did not open up even after airing it out for an hour or so.Earthy, leather and tannins still predominant. It was lacking in succulence and fat.You would not recognize this as a St.Emilion.It could develop better in a year or two but not by much.

August 6, 2014 - Appearance: Bright and clear, the wine is of medium intensity ruby color, with legs.
Nose: Clean, with medium intensity of black fruit such as blackberry and plum, mineral notes of earth, maturity notes of forest floor, sweet spice of cloves, oak notes of cedar and some herbal notes of black tea. The wine is developing.
Palate: Dry, with medium acidity, the wine has medium (+) tannin of ripe and silky texture, medium alcohol and medium (+) body, showing medium intensity flavors of black fruit such as blackberry and plum, herbal notes of mint, sweet spice of cloves, oak notes of cedar. The wine has a medium finish.
Conclusion: Good quality St-Emilion with a reasonably intense nose, the wine has a fair complexity, without much outstanding feature that one would have a deep memory. However, still a wine with structure and showing fair concentration on the palate to enjoy, as well as offering a reasonable finish. Ready to drink now but can benefit from further ageing of another 1-2 years.
