November 3, 2021 - This was one of the wines Domino and I served at our wedding in 2008, and this single bottle was one of the few that didn't get opened that night. We just never got around to opening it, until now. This was standing in our cellar for at least three years and so when I double decanted it we lost only a quarter ounce (+/-) of wine. Bottled under screw cap.

Served just over two hours after it was double decanted. Light ruby/crimson color with a bit of bricking throughout, it definitely appears its age. Aromas of sous bois, cherry, rhubarb, baking spices and cranberry. Flavors of sour cherry, earth and wild strawberry. Shows some acid as well, this is definitely better at the supper table as the acidity becomes less obvious with food. 89+ pts.

While its best days are in the past, this wine still has plenty of charm to offer and of course for us personally, a little something extra.

June 12, 2021 - Decanted, but it was hardly necessary. Some fine sediment. Crimson color. Notes of dried fruit and autumn leaves. Flavors of dried fruit, cherries predominating. Silky texture, consistent over several hours. An excellent pinot noir, now at its peak.

April 12, 2020 - Delicious Oregon pinot noir. Full bodied and an almost creamy texture that lets the red cherry notes be very nicely integrated but enough acidity to keep it from being flabby. This is probably my favorite Nuthouse vintage maybe because it is an anniversary year for us. It paired perfectly with a bourbon honey glazed Easter ham. This review is in wrong spot as this was a nuthouse not the regular reserve.

January 23, 2020 - Opened at part of a mixed blind tasting. Showed exceptionally well considering its age, and was generally liked although not the overall favorite versus some bigger varietals,. Med body with solid color and nose. Definitely the style of Pinot that I enjoy.

November 2, 2015 - Pleasant if a little uninteresting given 10 years in the bottle. Impression was of strawberries with little else.

December 19, 2014 - This wine is another example of the quality Argyle produces. while I only had one of this vintage I will look to increase my cellar with more of their Pinots. The wine still has many years left on it.

March 2, 2014 - Has aged nicely, no real heat, pure expression of fruit. Not much depth, but good value

December 8, 2012 - Showing some amber shades indicative of age. Tannins have completely mellowed. Went welll with a blackened tilapia Po' Boy. I still like the '06 better, but this is the best one of the '05s that I've had--last one.

August 21, 2012 - paid corkage in restaurant, just twist and serve. Could have done it myself and saved the $10. Last of 6, Cherries, apples, some citrus, smoke. Had the 2002 Reserve also, just as good. I love Argyle, just don't get too big like some others

April 26, 2012 - Much better than the last bottle, although the cola flavors are not my favorite aspect of OR pinots. I still like the '06 better. At least the bottle of '06 that I had last fall was very nice, so I can't generalize beyond that for this wine.
