November 10, 2019 - Second Sunday Group: 1999 Napa cabernets (Our house): Very bright and pretty with pear and white fruit notes. Dry, but with terrific fruit and length on the palate. Good balancing acidity. This was the best match for the choucroute in my book. 93+ pts.

March 31, 2015 - Viscous & oily. The floral & fresh melon notes are fading to the background & petrol is coming to the fore. The acid has mellowed too. Clearly past its peak, unless this is what you wait for.

November 24, 2011 - Perhaps just a bit past its prime. Darker in color than our last bottle, and the slight greenish hue has faded. Nose still exhibits that classic ZH "cleanliness," along with some delicate floral & tropical notes. Lighter in body than this producer's entry level Pinot Gris & Gewurtz., but remarkably similar flavors; spiced lychee, fresh pineapple, & melon predominate. Still holding onto decent acidity throughout...So, drink `em if ya got `em. [12.5% abv.; $24.00].

May 4, 2011 - Aprox. $38 at Chestnut Hill PLCB store in Philadelphia, PA.

Aroma: Medium - to Light Intensity/ Grapey, tropical notes of papaya, minerality, lightly floral and herbal.

Palate: Off Dry, Medium + Body, Medium to Medium + Acidity, Medium Alcohol, Medium + Flavor Intensity, Medium + Finish/ Underripe Tropical Fruit, Herbal, Stone Fruit.

A little dissapointing. I'm either drinking this a little too early or a little too late. The aromatics, were somewhat subdued, and the palate didn't offer much complexity. However the palate was nicely balanced. Ultimately I feel that I paid too much. Based on the previous review however, I'm wondering if I had a slightly off bottle (herbal sharpness oxidative flaw?).

July 18, 2010 - Perhaps my favorite ZH to date. Light golden color & tell-tale ZH nose. Can terroir be smelled? Medium bodied. Lightly honied mellon & pink grapefruit on the palate. Lovely acidity throughout. Really shines as it warms. Very pretty wine. [12.5% abv.; $24.00]
