October 12, 2017 - Deep red color. Aromas of black fruits, licorice and black spices. Ripe, silky, well-balanced fruit in the mouth with very good depth and length and well-integrated tannins. Sweet and long on the palate. Delicious with the outstanding duck breast at Pumpkin Restaurant. At peak.

May 3, 2017 - Full-throated syrah, dark red, a touch cloudy. Earthy notes, some ripe cherry and blackberry. A fair amount of heat on finish, and a slight whiff of chemical.

March 5, 2017 - Beserker day purchase. Popped and poured. Followed over 4 hours. Last glass was the best.

Lots of dark fruit, beautiful purple flowers - violets (gorgeous) on the nose. Palate showed good acidity. Not much secondary development at 11 years. Wine seemed thin with good acids. This is not a viscous mess at all. A little olive brine, peeking out here and there. I wanted more garrigue and dirty grill grates but that wasn't here. It did not have the tannin structure (but the acid was sufficient) to complement a Snake River Wagyu done simply. Nonetheless, this was a fine, satisfying wine that I would drink up within the next few years. I don't think longer term aging is likely to benefit and those great florals fade.

January 28, 2017 - 14.8 ABV. Lots of acidity, it dominates. Odd for that level of ABV. Didn't diminish over an hour.

November 27, 2016 - Vinturied as I didn't have time for a proper decant. Quite aromatically expressive, Smooth, yet with sufficient structure to provide balance and cut. A much better showing than a bottle of this wine a few years ago. A nice combination of new and old world characteristics 92-3
