December 2, 2023 - A bottle opened six years ago was, for unknown reasons, a dud. This one sure isn't.

August 28, 2023 - Mark thought this had a medicinal finish, I got herby, but not medicinal. Black raspberry, black pepper, some oregano, leather. Resolved tannin, good finish. B+

July 28, 2023 - Didn't take a note, but this was notably fruity compared to some Northern Rhones next to it. Still, compared to most Cali Syrah this is quite savory and earthy. Lovely, and probably 5+ years away from full maturity.

July 4, 2023 - The was the old of an old and new California Syrah pairing for July 4. It hit all the high notes I was expecting, with savory roasted meat, cedar, turned earth, dark berry and warm leather aromas and flavors. Medium bodied, the only tiny nit would be that the alcohol poked out just a bit at first. A few minutes in the fridge fixed that, so watch the serving temp in the summer months. Structure has been mostly consumed, but there's still enough spine for a few more years of cellaring, but now may be one of those mystical high points for the wine.

December 4, 2022 - Found another bottle in my cellar. Still drinking really well.
