June 20, 2020 - Now darker gold. Beautifully balanced. Some botrytis but plenty marmalade, ripe apricot, clove and other warm spices. Great acidity so doesn't cloy. Long finish. Drinking really well now but no rush at all. Barsac in 2006 did really well.

January 11, 2020 - DAMN WiNOS (Rye Restaurant, Eugene): A deeper gold color than my last one 2+ years ago, this bottle was immediately open with ripe tropical fruit, honey, orange marmalade, peach and some spice. Great texture and a nice freshness from the acidity. Has YEARS!

December 20, 2019 - Annual Tasting Group Holiday Party (I Nonni, St. Paul, MN): Small glass; this was drinking very well. Bright and lively with a good fruit and spice mix and not overly sweet.

February 7, 2019 - Think I was a bit ungenerous with my score on the last bottle. This is still rock solid, with ripe apricot and honey in abundance that makes you want more.

December 31, 2018 - Very well balanced, these 12 y of aging is what makes the difference, harmony of candied fruits, quince marmalade and underlying acidity, less botrytis then expected. It was OK on its own, but heaven with foie gras.

(Chateau Coutet Barsac) Beautifully fresh citrus fruits on the nose, pure and aromatic. Great substance here, really quite a fat texture, but underneath it all a minerally-chalky seam, giving a fresh and vibrant feel to it. Lovely substance leading into a sweet-sappy finish. Long. For the vintage I think this is very impressive.

(Chateau Coutet Barsac) A gentle, fresh, orange marmalade aroma here; it is quite dense, with a slightly high-toned element to it. Fresh, quite tight on the palate, firm, with a pastille-like intensity to the fruits. Nice acidity, and showing a little more botrytis than some of the other wines here today. With time in the cellar I think this might be a very nice wine indeed.
