February 17, 2019 - A very satisfying Sauternes. Tastes of vanilla, tangerine, peach, apricot coconut, honey and treacle, with enough acidity to balance the sweetness. Tasted from a 375 ml bottle, that will likely improve a bit more with aging.

December 27, 2018 - I've always thought this was a very reliable producer and this bottle did not disappoint. Displays a surprisingly dark color for only a 12 year old sauternes, but that didn't bother me at all. On the nose, you get the very classic toffee, burnt embers, and roasted almond notes that come very well together when framed with a zesty acidity. Decent finish plays on the strength of the fruit, right about where a dessert wine should be. Stood up to some nice cheese and nuts. For the money, it's a very good bottle, it just lacks a touch of complexity of some of the more elite sauternes that would merit a higher score.

(Château Guiraud) From 375 ml - light lemon yellow color; aromatic, ripe pear botryrtis nose; rich, confectioner's sugar, pear syrup, pear cream, vanilla, coconut palate with some balancing acidity; long finish (13.5% alcohol)

(Chateau Guiraud Sauternes) Fresh and lively aromas, of elegant and honeyed white fruits. The palate has a similar elegance, yellow-white stone fruit with a nice, composed sweetness. Fat and attractive, not really showing any botrytis of note, but it still has an appealing presence. Good.

(Chateau Guiraud Sauternes) Not very expressive on the nose, a little herby-nettly, but with some sweet candied fruit too. On the lighter side of a middle weight, not very concentrated, creamy and clean though. Not much botrytis character, and a decent texture too. Quite good.
