February 26, 2024 - Drinking very well currently. Cranberry and light smoke/barnyard on the nose, as well as some spice - star anise in particular. Really fresh and vibrant palate but with plenty of depth and length. Boiled sweets coming through a little though it’s far from confected. A little tannic chew and plenty of acid. Still room to develop positively given the concentration.

February 22, 2024 - PnP. I've held these since release and it's been worth the effort. Harmonious, elegant and deeply flavorful. VG acids/structure and an avg+ finish, avg complexity. For my tastes, this is absolutely in the zone just now; should hold at a high level for several more years. recommended

January 6, 2024 - Cranberry and cherry fruits with earthy- sometimes vegetal and dirty - notes. The fruit opens at times and then comes spice and smoke. Best for enthusiasts of the region.

December 25, 2023 - Served alongside a traditional Christmas dinner, the freshness and acidity here provided a perfect foil to rich festive fayre. What surprised me was how well this showed after the “main event”. A day or two after opening there is a definite barnyard funk on the nose, supporting a well balanced fruitiness and acidity in the mouth, alongside crunchy tannins that suggest potential for further aging. This wine whispers both high and low, taking a cue from its Burgundian big cousins while remaining sure footedly rooted in its Beaujolais home. A very accomplished wine at this price point.

September 29, 2023 - It had a breath of northern Rhône before the taste of candied berries contradicted that image. Suave, plush tannins support a tumble of sticky berries and stem tar. Reductive brackishness. Big. Broad. Comfortable. Concentrated. Animated. My last note raised the possibility of scheduling this vintage for ready depletion. Now, I'm thinking: not so fast. It's hardly showing how its parts will fit together yet. We might not know for sure until 2027, or later.
24 HOURS later: tastes real good.
