January 16, 2021 - Double Blind. The moment this is poured I think this is Mugnier - the nose screams it. But then the palate, while very red fruited and pleasant, is unusually warm and slightly sweet, which isn't the typical Mugnier profile, and I've had a bunch of the 2002 Fuees recently. I wonder if it may have been that I used this glass for the Faiveley? It's a nice wine, but not a great example of a Mugnier on the palate. That said, I was still kicking myself for not sticking with my guess of Mugnier - the nose is completely correct and absolutely lovely.

November 5, 2020 - Very much underwhelmed. Classic color but forgettable nose and tasted like Meomi. Apologies to Meomi lovers. Acquired from crushwine. Otherwise would question authenticity. I don’t trash wines lightly. Bummed I have three more. Avoid.

July 6, 2020 - Yes, this wine did in fact have an upward trajectory. 🙂

The primary baby fat has faded, leaving a tauter, leaner impression, for the better to me.

May 20, 2019 - Red cherries, smoke, and earth. Delicate, mature, tasty. A fine village wine well worth what I paid for it, but I sure wouldn't pay current auction prices. B+/B

    February 14, 2019 - With our 41st Valentine's Day dinner at home.

This village Chambolle-Musigny is said to come from; Les Plantes planted in 1968-69 & La Combe d’Orveau planted over several periods from 1952-1998.

PnP & slow ox for an hour in glass and btl prior to drinking in earnest. Light translucent crimson color with perfuse nose of roses, berries & light underbrush. This delivers signature Mugnier weightless, lacy elegance, finesse and silk wrapped around; pale cherry and raspberry, spice, minerality and underbrush. Such purity & class! Paid $50 and wish I could still get them for that!! 12.5% Alc. My last of 4 and no regrets as it seems at or very near peak now at age 17+.
