February 28, 2017 - Plump blackberry, incense, strong vanilla and wood notes. Crazy that its still showing something given its age. Peppery finish. Not complex, but a nice finish.

February 24, 2013 - It is getting better with some age

November 3, 2011 - Surprisingly good drink. Drank cool, with no food, and was smooth, not overly fruity, and nicely balanced blend.

August 7, 2011 - Very dark aromas of blackberry and even a little chai tea. Full bodied and inky mouthfeel. Very true and intense blackberry flavor. All most too big. Tannins almost all the way resolved. New world all the way.

March 31, 2011 - Dark fruits, cedar and spice with dark cherries

(Pilllar Box Red) #2; COLOR-dark; NOSE-good black fruit, but smells a little fake; little tar bubble action; stick actions; heavy blackberry jam; TASTE-good focused fruit; these guys know how to pack a lot of flavor; good flavor profile; good finish; doesn't have the pizzazz and 2nd tier flavors as last vintage; very fruity; very smooth; good tannin structure; finish is a little shorter than last vintage; some residual raisin action; solid; JM-91; GV-87+
