January 26, 2024 - The Schubert Theorem is a masterpiece, the scent is spellbinding, blackberry, blackcurrant, lavender and also black pepper. This is full power but with silk gloves, elegance and balance in perfect harmony. But this was day 2 and 3, day 1 this was not in harmony. The alcohol was not integrated, so, give ths beast a lot of love before drinking. Hold for at least 2 - 3 years.

November 19, 2023 - Dark nose with smoky blackberry and dark chocolate. Touches of dried herbs, clove and beef fat. Rich but effortlessly refined on the palate with phenomenal intensity. Endless herb dusted blackberry finish. Too young of course even with air so definitely worth waiting.
WSET Notes:
Deep purple.
Pronounced on the nose with blackberry, black plum, smoke, charred wood, meat, slate, dried herbs, dark chocolate, clove and leather. Developing.
Pronounced and dry on the palate. Full body, high alcohol, high tannins, medium plus acidity, long finish.
Too young. -

January 27, 2022 - Whoa what a wine! Beautiful glowing purple colour! Black cherry and berries, dark chocolate tannins, seaweed saltiness, gravelly acidity. Long, long flavours. So compete - line and length. Beautiful.

May 8, 2021 - My mate, the Duck, was right when he said he was opening a bruiser.
This is where blackberry, liquorice, and sweetly spiced (cinnamon) like tannins all meet in the fullest and densest of wines.
But it has perfect balance, and the fruit has not been stretched by the winemaker.
There’s no doubting where this wine comes from, and increasingly the maker too.
Outstanding. Even at its $100+ Aussies it presents exceptional value.
Thank you Duck for opening this one with us.1 person found this helpful Comment
