June 15, 2013 - Roast plum on the nose, mint, milk chocolate. Chocolately plum on the palate here too, with quite a bit of heat. Despite all the oak, and all this heat, there is a deep black plum profile that I really like. I see this falling apart in the not too distant future, with all the heat here, and would be inclined to drink up soon before it dries out (the burnished tannins have softened, but that is moot in light of the back-end heat).

June 15, 2012 - Humiliated by Izzy to write notes from memory. First let me say I'm not a big cali cab fan but my girlfriend has been drinking this over 3 days now and loves it. I believe it to be well made and balance with good fruit, well integrated tannins and a silky smooth palate of dark fruit on a solid finish. While this is not my style it truly is a better more balance wine than most cali wines and doesn't show the high alcohol content some others do. I state that because my girlfriend has not complained once about the high alcohol nor has it given her the 'buzz' she sometimes gets, and doesn't like, from big alcohol wines. 90 might be unfair and possibly a more fair score would be 91.
