March 9, 2024 - Very good stuff as always; lemon peel, grass, gooseberry, a bit of green apple and a touch of smoke. Good density, but also fresh and just generally tasty.

January 26, 2024 - No fruit. Will leave until tomorrow to see what happens. Wow, 24 hours later it is wonderful . Quite a complex Sauvignon Blanc and very moorish.

December 30, 2022 - Some tropical notes to the gooseberry and straw on both nose and palate. Med to med + acidity. Med. intensity of flavor, acidity sticking a bit out right now.

August 15, 2022 - This was delicious; the nose was ripe, but still sauv blanc; ripe citrus fruit, a hint of orchard fruits and blossom, fresh cut grass, mineral, and lemon peel. The palate is excellent, bright, but great depth that makes you stop and take notice on the first sip. The balance is lovely and it finishes in harmony. Excellent stuff that seems to have time ahead.

May 30, 2021 - First bottle of the Chambrates from Vacheron; initially this was pretty tight and not forthcoming; with a bit of air it opens to show lovely citrus fruit with some green pear and green apple, a bit of smoke, spice and mineral, some hawthorne blossom, and a bit of stony earth. The palate was also pretty coiled initially, but slowly began to reveal more fruit and depth; the palate and overall impression was a bit more rounded and while rich isn't the right word, something along those lines. I found this really quite fascinating as it was a different expression of many Sancerre's and quite enjoyable. I suspect the rounded feel was from the clay in the soil here. Should improve in the bottle based on this showing.

Day 2 this is better; the nose is much more open and showing more classic notes of cut grass, hay, citrus peel. Still some pear and apple. The palate remains more broad and powerful than the classic Sancerre with a rounder feel, but still with great acidity and a long finish. Enjoyed more on day 2 so probably could benefit from some more cellar time. Really good.

April 7, 2021 - Also strange. Crunchy acidity all through the back of the palate. Otherwise super muted. Tons of minerality but really nothing else.
