Community Tasting Notes 6

  • Lupodesmo4 Does not like this wine:

June 20, 2017 - Very good fill level(into neck) for the age, but unfortunately oxidated.
    Short cork of poor quality.

November 25, 2012 - Orange gold colour. Nose has a bit of orange but mostly barley sugar . Still good levels of sweetness but it has lost some. Aggressive Botrytis and a mix of orange and light barley sugar flavours. Fully mature, in fact I prefer Sauternes with less maturity than this but certainly still some life here.

June 18, 2012 - Slow ox’d for 1 hour and consumed over 4 hours; seemed to show at its best between hours 3 – 4. The nose concentration was pretty subdued and was a little on the thin side. Although the remaining elements that were present were nice enough, I think maybe this vintage wasn’t meant for the long haul. Drink now, as this is probably 5 years past its peak and likely on a steep downward slope.

January 12, 2009 - Rich orange color, orange marmalade with lemon zest nose. Suprisingly bright, and not as sweet as I had expected, tart orange palate. Wonderful with foie, the acidity was refreshing with the richness of the foie.
