February 26, 2023 - Très bon, intéressant de le goûter quelques jours après le Val delle corti. Pas le même millésime, 2018 n'est pas simple en Toscane, mais c'est une belle bouteille, un fruit assez noir mais pas mat, bouche savoureuse, pleine, avec un trait d'alcool en finale qui montre un équilibre moins abouti que l'autre bouteille. Pour du chianti "de base", c'est du haut niveau, j'aime beaucoup ce domaine également.
October 2, 2022 - Ripe cherries with amarena sweetness, oranges, tobacco, floral hints. Creamy mouthfeel, with good acidity and leathery tannins balancing the ripe fruit. Somehow, the finish is dry, but also juicy. Not as good as the 2016, but better than other recent vintages. Drink within a year.
July 12, 2022 - Red fruits, licorice, and spice on the nose with a little more leather andsavory notes than my last bottle. On the palate, it's midweighted with sappy fruit, cedar, spice, and some cooling menthol like notes on the back end. Graceful, very enjoyable wine drinking at early peak. 91
March 12, 2022 - Clear medium red. Fairly intense nose, very fresh black cherry, forest floor, spice and plum fruit. Dry spicy black cherry flavours and a nice dry finish.
A nice traditional CC to rival Fontodi or Isole e Olena.
February 28, 2022 - Less and less compelling with each bottle. Soft medium bodied and supple, missing flavor and structural complexity. Dark cherry, boysenberry and blackberry...feel like there are other bottles at the same price point that are much better and amazing for Chianti and more classical...
February 27, 2022 - Medium ruby red in color. Full, forward & fragrant nose of ripe fruit aromas of cherries, strawberries & plums with overtones of earthy/dusty & floral notes, anise herbs, spices, minerals & a hint of cedar in the background. Medium bodied with a very good concentration of balanced & smooth textured, ripe fruit flavors of cherries, plums & strawberries with herbs & minerals. Lingering finish. Quite accessible at present with decanting & extended airing but has the structure to continue with further development with additional aging.
November 24, 2021 - Nice medium bodied balanced complex structure...flavor profile missing complexity and a little more new world, dark Cherry with no depth
November 19, 2021 - Very fresh and pure Chianti all the way around. A nose of earth, a touch of herbs, sour cherry, subtle black tea. The palate is fresh and clean with sour Cherry that’s grounded by some of the more herbal qualities. High acid, brisk on the palate. Lots of purity here.
September 4, 2021 - Impressive fruit, Sangiovese in it’s puriest way. So fresh and irresistable.
All components are in perfect balance - and this might be catch of the year. Respect.
