January 5, 2018 - 1995 MICHEL OGIER COTE-ROTIE- sadly, corked with wet cardboard aromas making unnecessary to venture on.

March 14, 2017 - Decanted for three hours, but unfortunately past its peak. Cork was undamaged, but wine was opaque with brownish tint. Drinkable but acidic and unbalanced. More rounded on second day.

August 23, 2015 - Tasted blind; double-decanted over the course of a day. Lite garnet color. Beautifully pure sweet cherries on the nose. Notes of somewhat bitter cherries with a Burgandy-esque body and umami on the finish. Still drinks young after all this time, and as strange as it sounds I think it may evolve further. Very pleasant.

February 27, 2015 - At Northern Rhone Wimps. This was something of a revelation - spicy, aromatic, savoury, rich with underlying red fruit, soft, resolved, vibrant acids carrying a long, harmonious finish. Excellent *****.

April 25, 2014 - Medium red-garnet color, pale-edged. Pungently earthy and herbaceous nose; freshly plowed and fertilized furrows at a violet farm, wood smoke in the background. Lovely. On arrival, medium tannin and taut acidity, both of which increase slowly throughout the evening. On arrival, the fruitiness is a little surprising in intensity: black raspberry, red raspberry, blackberries. Finishes long, excellent persistence. I could drink this every day. Proved a great match for garlic-rosemary "La Rosine" marinated flat iron steak, grilled over mesquite. An astounding combination with this wine. Bottle #4 of six.
