April 12, 2022 - Pale garnet colour. Medium and developing nose with strawberry, red cherry, black pepper, licorice, chocolate and wet leaves. Medium taste of strawberry, red cherry, black pepper, licorice, chocolate and wet leaves. Medium (+) long and dry finish. High acidity. High tannins. Full body. A very good Gattinara. Needs air to open. Goes well with beef or lamb.

February 26, 2022 - Plenty of red fruit, some floral notes along with leather, tar and a nice earthy-ness. Plenty of tannins, so was great with food. Was good to go but should also age for quite some time, if possible to wait.

January 20, 2022 - The wine has tremendous cherry fruit and a floral undertone in the nose.

In mouth the wine has a familiar "Tuscan Tannin" to its mouthfeel. It's light to medium bodied with bright cherry freshness and an earthy mid palette and once again a dusty finish.

November 9, 2021 - This DOCG 100% Nebbiolo was delightful. This was the first Nebbiolo that I have tasted. Light to medium bodied, bright acidity, lovely berry nose with black cherry and vanilla undertones.

October 27, 2021 - This Gattinara drinks very well right out of the gate. And I mean that in two ways: it is remarkably approachable being that is the current release AND it tastes great right out of the bottle. A true pop and pour wine.(pretty rare for Alto Piemonte Nebbiolo!).

Fresh red cherries, cranberries, strawberries, new leather, just the slightest hint of vanilla. Bright acid; firm tannins. Overall a nice structure. I really like how the winemaker used oak here. It's delicious now, aged four, and will likely go another 5 years.

Paired with a bean and vegetable soup, made in the style of Novara. This wine is VERY food friendly and would work with many things.

September 18, 2021 - Floral red cherry and pomegranate, with an herbal earthiness and mouthcoating, dusty tannins. Medium-bodied, abundant acidity, and a long, asian-spice finish. Young, grippy, affordable Nebbiolo that shines with food. Benefits from air.
