October 11, 2021 - This is rather nice - dark red fruit and herbs on the nose; these continue to the palate with a nicely balanced slightly citrus acidity. The finish is a little drying, and stays, for me, just on the right side of bitter. However, in the absence of food I find just a lingering cloyingness on the finish. For me this works better with food - in my case some pasta with a cheesy sauce.
Overall a very pleasant wine for light food. OK, but not great, QPR at the ~US$23 that I paid.
September 26, 2021 - Tasted over 2 hrs
-mildly herbal melon
-med acidity, pronounced herbal with some fading melon fruit and a bitter note on the finish
-still going strong
July 27, 2021 - This rose is a bit more herbal with some hints of bitter. Not everyone will appreciate this aspect compared to many of the other Bandol Rose wines.
July 18, 2021 - Yeah that was beautiful- just right for Bandol Rosé - quite dark and dense yet graceful
May 30, 2021 - Typical melon and herb with a bit more weight as is typical for Pradeaux though this is a bit flabby now compared to last year.
May 2, 2021 - A more darkly colored rose with scents of pink grapefruit, lemon zest, rosemary, thyme and pine needles. On the palate, there are flavors of pink grapefruit, lime zest, strawberries, minerals and thyme.
April 24, 2021 - Strawberries, herbal notes, and a bit of peach on the nose. Saline and mineral notes, along with a mix of citrus with a bitter peel note on the palate. A serious rose that I throughly enjoyed.
March 28, 2021 - Strawberries. And intense. Maybe give this one some time.
Good food wine but not a summer quaffer
January 15, 2021 - tasted at the domaine
no formal notes
this is so delicious right now. very very expressive on the nose with strawberries and fresh red berries, notes of seashell and some citrus
very long and rich for a rose and carries on very admirable length. this will be great over the next 3 or so years. it might go longer, but that is the window that i prefer for these where they still carry nice acidity
very mouthwatering, refreshing and will be great for grilled fish or some white meat dishes.
side note - better than the '15 at the same moment in evolution
July 17, 2020 - Medium copper. Peaches, strawberries, stony minerality. Pretty ripe on the palate but with a nice salty mineral streak. Energetic buzz with a nice lasting bitterness on the finish. Great balancing act between the ripeness, the savory and bitter notes, and the buzzing acidity.
