May 7, 2022 - Yet another super bottle of the 1999 Pride merlot. Dynamite on day two too. Medium to full bodied; dark/almost black. Blackberry and cherry with some darker leather notes too.

February 26, 2022 - My 4th bottle of 1999 Pride merlot in @3 months — again, just superb. Packed with fruit, no hard edges or harshness. Gorgeous. The remaining 1/3 bottle left on the kitchen counter was still singing today.

February 5, 2022 - Wow, I continue to be amazed by how well these 1999 Pride merlots are drinking. Resolved tannins but not at all tired, still packed with positively delicious fruit, sip after sip. In its earlier days, I think this was considered especially tannic for a Pride merlot, but perhaps that, along with the benefit of excellent fruit concentration and longevity, has helped ensure a long life. Even on day two, the remaining glass from last night’s bottle was almost as good as last night’s glasses (though it was different as the bottle was room temperature - recorked and left on kitchen counter). This is the third bottle I’ve drunk from @8 bought last year in an online auction and it’s looking like one of my best recent auction buys.

January 8, 2022 - My, my, this was just so good. So surprisingly good. Even better than the bottle I had @6 weeks ago. Medium bodied; blue fruit nose; both nose and flavors not as “aged” as the November 2021 bottle. And today, the second day, the final 1-1/2 glasses poured from the recorked bottle were positively delicious — lots of primary fruit such that I wanted to just sip it in order to savor the fruit. Glad I still have several bottles left!

January 7, 2022 - Showing great for 22 years old, almost no signs of age / funk / reduction one might expect.. Lovely forest floor meets deep dark dusty tobacco-y fruit
