February 19, 2010 - This is an amazing value. Acidity more like Sauv Blanc than Chardonnay. Works equally well with seafood and vegetable dishes.

September 6, 2009 - light acidity, crisp with a little softness, had for dinner with prawns, mushroom soup, etc.

March 23, 2009 - This blend of Chardonnay, Verdelho, and Semillon is incredibly balanced and lively. The delicious citrus notes work well with the green apple backbone. In the mouth, the texture is soft and smooth. Yum.

(Stickleback Langhorne Creek White) Stickleback SPECIAL Dear Friends, This is pretty simple - a top summer beverage at a steal of a price and a wine that all of you could find many uses for. I’ve been searching for top deals that you can stock up on for summer/fall weddings or large events and this one takes the cake. Usually, a winery is willing to deal on a past vintage for white wine but this is the current release and (for a white) rivals the Hay Shed Hill deal from last summer. Ben Glaetzer (Amon-Ra, Mitolo, etc) set out to redefine the notion that Australian wine was over-ripe, alcoholic and “dumb” by creating a bargain series of wines that would reflect varietal tone and purity rather than just oak and extraction. This is not an easy feat in Langhorne Creek (where Noon and others reside), but the accomplishment is in the bottle. From a “proprietary” blend that must contain Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc (Verdelho?) and a touch of Semillon the wine has elements of all three with lifted aromatics of citrus, stones, white peaches and straw with Sauvignon Blanc-like cut and the length of Chardonnay. With only 12-12.5% alcohol and a refreshing, summer veranda mentality, this wine is the perfect inexpensive sipper that is un-oaked and relies on its grapes and the light pressing that sent them to your bottle and not wood chips and additives. A refreshing trend for your palate and for the Australian market. I would be very curious to see what Europhiles think of this effort not to mention those that love New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc or the more refined Central Coast Chardonnays. A great deal with balance and class. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED for amazing price/value and the top effort that Ben Glaetzer put into this We have one shipment at the sale price, what should be one of the lowest in the world: 2006 Stickleback Langhorne Creek (Blanc) Thank you, Jon Rimmerman Garagiste Seattle, WA Aus9908
