Community Tasting Notes 6

July 20, 2021 - Notes relativement similaires à la 1ère bouteille, mais ici des notes de bois (vanille) et de réglisse se distinguent un peu plus.

July 17, 2021 - Though still quite tight and lean, this right-bank Bordeaux, a fine value given that it comes from a satellite of a famous appellation, turns fuller and juicier after extensive aeration, suggesting that it's just now entering its prime at five (much earlier than usual for good Bordeaux), with the drying tannins and sharp acidity to benefit from 2-3 more years of aging. The initial aromas show umami, spicy savouriness, and Bordeaux character, with mushroom, earth, and pine / forest floor, while ripe cherry, dark berries, and plum come later, if on a secondary level, plus mild vanilla and brown spice The umami and spicy notes carry over onto the palate, where a more peppery element, quite similar to northern Rhone Syrah (also from the 10% Cabernet Franc that accompanies the Merlot), emerges, along with a strong underlying current of minerality, highly characteristic of the region. Solidly in the 89-90 range now, there's potential for improvement, but regardless this already a fine, unheralded Bordeaux showcasing impressive structure and complexity.

June 30, 2021 - Des arômes de fruits noirs, des épices. Belle matière sur le fruit noir, des tanins présent mais enrobés, acidité à l’avenant. Promis à un bel avenir avec un rqp intéressant.

June 29, 2021 - Quite nice with both a richness and lively acidity. The fruit and wood are well integrated, and the fruit is just a tad muted even while all coming together in a nice mouthful of wine.

June 25, 2021 - This was a good value for this price point, may need a few more years to mellow out, need to decant for 3-4 hours. I found full bodied, with medium tannins, some notes of blackcurrant and black cherries overall great restaurant buy.
