July 20, 2022 - Still incredibly fine as it gently rubs against your tongue, although certainly past its prime. Remarkable acidity with the butter, citrus, and slight oxidization notes. Very long finish that stays with you through the evening. Maybe I like Champagne after all!! Score adjusted down a bit to reflect the condition

February 18, 2022 - Initial appearance and nose are a bit Maderized, with notes of Manzanilla sherry and caramel apple. There is mouthwatering acidity, bracing even. The wine is alive and pleasurable, but it takes a bit of time to come around. 30 mins or so after opening there is butter, toffee, dehydrated lemon peel and Yuzu marmalade. It made a stellar pairing with some smoked crudo and frito misto. That said, it falls off a cliff pretty swiftly thereafter, with the entry/front palate being completely washed out after about ~1.5 hours.

May 8, 2015 - Classic Pinot dominated champagne. Pear, apple, toast and brioche on the nose. After it opened up a bit, there is a hint of strawberry. Fine mousse, epically high acidity, intense richness.

A very fine mousse, very subtle and perfectly balanced.

August 7, 2012 - Disgorged in 1999 and certainly had plenty of vegemite yeast autolysis action. It had some caramel oxidation and also grilled nuts and bread notes.

September 2, 2011 - Dark amber. Some residual mousse which quickly faded - but that's OK. Warm, rich nose, classic Bolly spices with layers of caramel, toffee and toast. Surprisingly zesty finish. Completely intact after 30 years, and quite delicious.

October 26, 2010 - Nose of honey, caramel, yeast, and brioche, small amount of tiny bubbles formed a lovely mousse, same on the palate, medium/big body, tasty, elegant, complex, subtle, with a medium/long finish, photo of mahogany box and information brochure I use as a door stop. Brochure mentions 17 years in the cellar in preparation for the millennium release.

lovely rich and interesting nose of bread yeast in chardonnay, matched by complex and rich palate of caramelised apples, malt honey. crisp on the finish.
