April 13, 2024 - Floral, ripe berries, and brett. On its own, it was a little much, but with braised beef, it was quite good.

February 28, 2024 - Fjodor's note just below this one is spot on. Excellent rustic Roilette. I have had a number of wines from this producer going back to the '09 vintage and this one is spot on. Drink now +5 or more years, with some evolution yet to come.

I had half. Drank over 1 day.

January 18, 2024 - The most rustic wine I've drunk. Dried cherry, red soil, fresh cow shit, rotten meat and unkempt Frenchman.. both in the nose, in the mouth and in the long aftertaste.
Throw the wine on your friends with a rustic paté, some suspect cheese and some bitter salad.
For connoisseurs, furious French and great theater, chapeau!

December 22, 2023 - Loving this wine., it's really tasting great right now, but I would definitely drink it within the next year. Delicious, good food wine or with a cheese appetizer/dessert.

November 24, 2023 - Higher toned floral and brett nose that smells like dryer sheets. Gritty old school palate that still seems to have plenty of life left. So similar to the entry cuvee, just with more of everything.

October 13, 2023 - Delicious ripe red cherries, minerals, and floral notes on the open nose and smooth palate with soft tannins and acidity on the moderate finish.

August 25, 2023 - Developing nicely, this has some meat and earth that was not present on the last encounter, it is still quite young and fruity overall, but starting to show its funky fresh future. Give it lots of air, as it continues to open up... aromas of raw cacao, peony, overripe nectarine and cherry, blackberry syrup, blood orange, a little walnut oil, seared beef, oyster shell, and angostura bitters... there's just a hint of VA that contributes to the lift and brightness here, this is "natty" in the best way. Supple and juicy, lots of fruit, dynamic texture, velvety and lively, medium-bodied, perfectly tangy and tart... nuanced finish, this really elevates the Gamay name, as layers of fresh fruit as well as a subtle complex of herbal, spicy and floral tones linger beautifully. This will continue to develop positively for another 5 years, at least.

March 19, 2023 - Medium body. Lovely barnyard funk and dark fruits on the nose. Very smooth and balanced with nice structure and wonderful almost candied fruit. Very nice complexity, balance and finish here. Just a touch of tannin/tightness on the finish that will surely dissipate with more cellar time.
