March 4, 2024 - good value second wine for $40 at Costco. Needs a couple hours in the decanter.

December 10, 2023 - The 2019 iteration of Les Pagodes de Cos is a deep ruby blend of 55% Cabernet Sauvignon, 36% Merlot, 5% Cabernet Franc and 4% Petit Verdot. Serially tasted over a three hour period from a bottle that had been decanted through a Vinturi aerator, it unfurls an attractive olfactory array of dark bramble fruits, cassis, blueberries, Asian spices, licorice, tobacco and violets. Medium-bodied, freshly acidic and without any heat from its 13.5% alcohol, it delivers flavors that align with the aromas, adding a backbone of graphite, proportionate oak and medium-weight, fine-grained tannins. Layered in the middle and lengthy on the back end, this is a terrific second wine that is well worthy of its sticker price. It is already quite drinkable but possesses the structure to easily reach its twentieth birthday. If you choose to pop the cork at this stage, give it a couple hours of air if possible. Drink now-2039.

October 25, 2023 - Quality natural cork, deep red in the glass, floral and plum nose, some pleasant acidity and light but present tannins that carries through the finish. Just a little bit fruitier than I typical like and expect from a bordeaux but it's balanced.
Improved with time in the glass, will improve with some bottle time.

October 20, 2023 - Short finish. Aroma of plum, red fruit, smoke … but all of it underwhelming.

September 25, 2023 - Tasted as part of a collection of second wines from Bordeaux,

Blind I would have guessed Rutherford, not a left bank second wine. Aromas of dark cherries, unsmoked tobacco, slightly smoky, leafy herbs, sandalwood. The palate showed dark plumpy red dusty fruit, dusty cacao, slightly spicy mid-palate which was soft and lacked a little persistence, finish seemed to just drop off, a fine Bordeaux but nothing special.
