March 26, 2022 - Delicious without being yeasty. Clean and bright with great apple, white fruits, honey. Just an incredible champ
January 14, 2022 - Very nice nose of honeycomb, lemon cream and spice cake. Seemed a little over the hill compared to previous bottles so will not rate this.
November 5, 2021 - Siggy Turns "Fitty": The Big 5-0 Blowout! (Spoon & Stable, Mpls, MN): Tasting pour. Drank this right after the '06. Had I known the difference, I'd have had the '04 first given its more racy character and minerality, but that said the similarities are still there. There' s lot of depth and layers to this along with more subtle toast. The name changes to Cuvee Louis with the '06 vintage. Both great, but hard not to get sucked into the ultra sexy '06. 93+ to 94pts.
November 5, 2021 - Brought to a large gathering, note from memory, small pour. Energetic and bright this showed white stone fruits, savory brioche, honey and chalk. Recent purchase locally and is safe to pick up more as this isn't fading at all.
October 3, 2021 - Lovely champagne drinking very well now. Consistent with previous bottles and notes. Creamy and buttery yet fresh and elegant, finesse and long finish.
September 11, 2021 - A step up from the last bottle - showing more maturity now but still intense acidity and in that understated Billecart-Salmon/2004 style
September 4, 2021 - Consistently excellent. See previous notes. Very buttery, rich, complex, golden yellow color, fine bubbles, fresh, chalk and stone, mineral, long finish with perfumed orchard fruits, pineapple and marzipan.
July 2, 2021 - Not as evolved and buttery as previous bottles I have had but still a beautiful blanc de blancs close to its full maturity. Less buttery and Montrachet like with more citrus notes to this bottles, but the mineral and stony elements are still there with a lift and a long finish to a complex champagne. Very nice indeed
May 12, 2021 - Beautiful champagne. Light golden metallic color, vivacious and refined bubbles. Nose of pears, chalk, pineapples, roasted nuts, marzipan and tea. On the palate ethereal and fat, with a long mineral finish. Really delicious.
April 8, 2021 - Outstanding finesse this gorgeous golden yellow colored vivacious champagne never ceases to amaze me. Fine bubbles, very refined nose of marzipan, pineapples, golden apples, citrus, chalk, brioche, you name it and its there! Mineral, fat and buttery entry on the palate, crisp mid palate and a Montrachet style finish. Definitely my kind of champagne. Would love to try to 2002 BdB if I can find it.
