  July 17, 2014 - Beautiful color, bouquet with sli. Light body. Only wish that Kate would have let me visit the winery sev. yrs ago. Have lots of bottles waiting to be tasted.

  December 8, 2011 - Still drinking very well but I think the fruit is fading. Still solid tannins and nice leather and chocolate notes. Some acid makes it a good food wine, excellent balance and mouthfeel.

  November 22, 2009 - No decant. I was not expecting much but this bottle was far better than my last one. The heavy tannins and heat are much better integrated now and the fruit, leather and chocolate come through nicely. Excellent balance. It was excellent both with food and on its own. Glad I have one more bottle. I suggest drinking now because I can't see it getting any better.

  nose: dark fruit - black cherry, blueberry, prune, VA, mocha, licorice and savory notes.
  Tannins have smoothed out nicely and the acidity remains. Still a better food wine than on its own. decent.

  April 25, 2009 - Dark purple, legs. Bouquet shows leather and dark fruit. On the palate, ok with food not so good by itself. The fruit is masked by the heavy tannins and heat. A little better on the finish, with some chocolate or coffee and plum, once the tannins subside.
