November 11, 2018 - Recent purchase from WineBid.
Was a bit concerned when I saw the cork had a seepage streak up to the top, and the capsule showed a small sign of seepage as well, but it looked like it had dried long ago.
In any case, the wine turned out to be just fine. This bottle was more open on the nose and palate than the other 2006 that I picked up at the same auction (Goldschmidt vineyard) and more refined as well.
This was just lovely, with excellent focus, balance, and a great core of the signature PGC sappy fruit. Enjoyed every sip of this and was sad when the bottle was empty.
Tasted over two evenings (vacuvin'd and refrigerated overnight) - consistent throughout.

April 18, 2014 - This bottle had some cork seepage on the foil. Wondered if it would be OK. Smelled and tasted great!

February 27, 2014 - Maybe a small cold, but I found this bottle to be less vibrant and less exciting than expected.

May 21, 2011 - Pop and pour, note after 4 hours. A bit of funk on the nose, could easily mistake this for a burgundy. A lot of sour cherries, earth and minerals. This is by far the best 06 PG I have had, gives me hope for my other 2006 PGs.

July 2, 2010 - So despite my last experience with this wine I decided I wanted to drink this sooner rather than later. This still has the classic OR Pinot nose to it that I love...and it's doing quite well. However, this is not as interesting to me as the last bottle. It's still an outstanding wine...I just think I'd rather not stock up on more of the '06's.

April 17, 2010 - Color: Vibrant ruby red

Smell: Earth, mushrooms, red fruits, cherries, and a hint of roses.

Taste: Bing cherries, wild strawberries, cranberries, pomegranate, raspberries, and a hint of cedar.

Overall: This is the FIRST 2006 Oregon Pinot Noir that I have been excited about in a long time. It has wonderful structure, brisk acidity, good tannin, and enough fruit to give this some aging potential in the cellar. I can not begin to say how excited I was by this wine and I truly wish I could get more of this wine.

June 13, 2009 - On par with the DS Evansted. It evolved very nicely from a full, fruit-filled nose to notes of leather and earth. Excellent.
