December 18, 2022 - $19 from LB. Surprised to see notes saying it could use a few more years given the age - but lets find out:
Nose: Red fruit, cedar, and a range of Rhone notes - herbal and meaty. Dusty earthiness.
Palate: Tastes ready to me! Well balanced acid, pleasant tannins, cherry, wood/cedar, and meat. That same dusty note from the nose, which I was not expecting but don't mind.
October 1, 2022 - This is very nice. Fruity and smooth with medium-plus tannin.
October 11, 2021 - Rich. Blackberry. Herbs.
September 18, 2021 - Full bodied Ribera, vanilla, plum, black currants, chocolate, soft tannins and long aftertaste. Good value for money.
June 6, 2021 - I agree with OLDWORLDDRINKER below, and would say make sure to let it at and open/decant for a minimum of 2 hrs prior. Elegant, pretty wine but very closed - helped by oxygenation.
January 24, 2021 - Decanted for two hours, first taste showed aggressive tannins, which mellowed after decanting. Clear, deep ruby with violet hues, nose is medium dominated by wild berries. On the palate the body is medium to full, medium acidity. A round wine that shows finesse, notes of blue berries just ripe enough to show true expression of the fruit. No rush on these, I would hold and retaste in 2 years.
January 22, 2021 - Its okay once you decant for 2-3 hrs and allow it to open up.
November 28, 2020 - Floral bouquet, dark fruits aromas. Red fruit flavors. Good acidity. Some tannins. Linear. Seems to lack structure. Medium grip with medium finish.
November 24, 2020 - Wow, so much going on here. Chocolate, mint, incense. Structured and vibrant. Young now, but could develop into something amazing. Hold for a a few years.
November 12, 2020 - Opened before dinner and it was incredibly dry and tannic, so we put it aside and consumed a different bottle. After an hour it completely changed in the glass, with more red fruit and a release of the tannins. A well made, sophisticated wine.
