November 26, 2022 - Rather clean finish, given the oak on the nose. Balanced. Not bad considering the price point

March 20, 2022 - Not a fan of this wine. Old world style, which I generally prefer from Spain. Dusty muted nose. Palate is black-fruited and on the simple and thin.

    July 1, 2021 - Medium ruby.

Nose: Red currant, cedar note that rings clear as a bell, graphite.

Mouth: Warmed red currants are met simultaneously by pureed black cherry, cut cedar, dried tobacco, and a kiss of vanilla, as a splash of orange juice announces the slowly fading finish. Just a bit grainy at the end, but overall shows all the right pieces in the right places.

Overall: Not profound, but solid, with good length, and a fair amount of meld at this point. Drink now - 2029.

    90.

June 6, 2021 - Delicious elegant wine with sense of place. Stupid QPR. Loved it and wish I had a case more.

January 27, 2021 - This has really come around over the past few months. Oak is much more integrated. This is an outstanding Rioja. What a value. Wish I had more.

November 11, 2020 - Bright raspberry fruit with a touch of rhubarb and green pepper. Some fine tannins, along with nice toasty oak. Rich mouthfeel with moderate acidity. Very good overall.

October 20, 2020 - really nice value at under $20. Just a bit heavy on the oak.
