November 8, 2022 - Strawberry, black currant, cedar, freshly polished black boot leather, dry undergrowth, and sweet liquorice. An amazing nose. On the palette, less ripe fruit, but beautifully balanced cedar, leather, and under ripe berries. Although the fruit has become a little riper on the second glass. Compared to the 1995 that I had about 18 months ago, this is significantly less concentrated and more austere on the palette, but is still a fantastic, classic, left bank.

November 7, 2022 - Stood up for three months. Bottom neck. Cork in pristine condition. Decanted for two hours. A medium ruby core fading to a pale ruby outer edge. Opens up with aromas of cedar, red berries, blackcurrant, liquorice, a touch of lavender, shoe polish, and campfire smoke. The palate - while less expressive and inviting than the nose - is texturally soft and rounded. As a direct comparison to the 1995, which was outstanding this is not as sleek, polished or concentrated - and overall presents as more classical and austere as one might expect from the contrasting vintages.

February 5, 2022 - At the last leg of cycle. But still drinking well. Notes of black fruits, char wood, toast, spices. Drink up soon.

February 17, 2021 - Farbe leicht bräunlich. Nase typisch Bordeaux, minimal oxidativ. Im Mund dunkle Früchte, etwas Kirsche. Guter, reifer Bordeaux, sicher noch gut bis 2025(?).

July 18, 2020 - Superb wine in an amazing drinking state, so typical bordeaux, very black fruit forward, spices, herbs, ink, leather, good balance, all in check. Intense and concentrated! Top

April 30, 2018 - Fully resolved and mature to my taste, a lovely aged Medoc with silky smooth fruit along with the usual nuances. More of an elegant than powerful wine.

May 8, 2017 - Medium bodied, firm, stoic, not quite austere, but close. Better on the nose, with its red fruits, cedar, herbs and forest floor, scents than on the palate. Mature and ready to drink.

    January 15, 2017 - Munskänkarna Göteborg Bordeaux-tasting, 50´s to the 90´s.

Despite it´s age still lots of fruit, oak. Feels pretty modern, but also very mature.
On the palate there is still lots of fruit and tannin. Not completely balanced, feels over-extracted. Still a nice and mature wine, would have expected more.

January 15, 2017 - Mature Bordeaux All blind and from Magnums except Pichon Baron and La Mission HB: Red to brick color. Much younger on the nose with cassis aromas and tobacco dominating. Still harsh tannin but lively acidity and decent fruit. Medium long finish. A lot better than you would expect, once the wine and above all the vintage was revealed.

July 25, 2016 - Chosen because easily accessible in the wine fridge when more claret was called for, this wine disappointed after the Sociando-Mallet and Haut-Brion being shorter, harder and less complex. An unfair placing probably.
