August 7, 2023 - Everything and Jeff Leve notes are spot on. Was in the mood for the more rich and floral style and this hits the mark. Well made.

June 20, 2022 - Not a big fan of CDP blanc as it can get a bit too big and boozy for my tastes, but this was a nice example of the style. Aromatically rather shut down (neutral), but very full-bodied with some good balance on acidity and alcohol. Maybe this needs more time to show what it has to offer? The meal called out for a big white with the mouthfeel of a red wine, and this did fit the bill perfectly. Rating: 90+

January 9, 2022 - Rich and energetic, with a core of bright yellow fruits with good sweetness, definition and lift, this is going to be just great on release. Drink from 2022 - 2029

August 28, 2021 - Muted nose. Palate with pleasant citrus, lemon oil, sweet, touch of grass. Rich, medium acidity. Flowery, not oily. A bit too sweet for my palate.

June 15, 2021 - Clos du Mont-Olivet's 2019 is a light golden blend of 40% Clairette, 31% Roussanne, 15% Bourboulenc, 10% Grenache Blanc, 2% Clairette Rose, 1% Picpoul and 1% Picardan. The Roussanne was fermented in one-year-old barrels, while the remainder of the grapes were fermented in stainless steel. Aging then commenced in a combination of stainless steel, new oak and used oak (88% stainless steel vats, 6% new oak and 6% used oak). Malolactic fermentation was not desired by the winemaker, but it is unclear to me how successful he was in precluding the malolactic conversion, as the acidity on the palate is low-to-medium at best. That said, the aromas and flavors from this blend make up for the lack of vibrancy. Stone fruits, white flowers, honey and lavender are pervasive on the attack, middle palate and lengthy finish. This can be enjoyed now, but I suspect that another couple of years will be beneficial. Drink 2023-2027.
