November 4, 2017 - Golden colour, fully mature. Nice Spatlese big fruit but it had more complexity a few years ago.

August 1, 2017 - The color and nose of honeysuckle and peaches are quite lovely. Also a great mouthfeel being quite luscious all they way through to the finish. The only minor glitch for me is an expectation of enough acidity to give it lift at the end and I didn't get that as much as I hoped. Still a very nice wine which will hold for quite a while and may take on some secondary characteristics to add some interest in a few years.

July 30, 2017 - My comments are basically the same as Blanquito's (we shared the same bottle, his). This is rather dreamy at the moment, leaving very little of its promise unfulfilled. A joy to drink, a wine to savor. Now or in the next 6-8 years, though right now this is on full display, so why wait. highly recommended

Served non-blind; cork, color and fill all in excellent condition.

July 30, 2017 - Big, rich bouquet with honey, petrol. Creamy mouthfeel on the attack with an unctuous, weighty feel, but it veers out of this with vivid, almost sharp acids, and a bit of bitterness on the finish. Great weight and depth, with nearly no overt sweetness. Distinct note of basil, lime and waxy honeycomb on the palate. The savory-herbal facets deepen with more air. Lovely.

June 9, 2017 - Beautiful golden color. Citrus, pineapple, melon, wet stone encrusted by a light on its feet sweetness. Better in the mouth than nose. This was worth the wait

Rockss and Fruit

(Donnhoff Schlossbockleheimer Kupfergrube Riesling Spatlese) Subtle nose of white flowers and a whiff of cherries. Outrageously complex palate with a beautiful viscous texture and a long meandering finish. The acid seems much more present than it did on release. It seems to have some of it's baby fat.

(Donnhoff Schlossbockleheimer Kupfregrube Spatlese) Dramatic nose of mashed nuts, kiwi, minerals, salt, white peach andcitrus. Very complex. Like concentrated and ripe lime juice on the palate with a hint of exotic orange citrus fruits with the famous as Mark Hanes calls it "the Donnhoff dissolve." Good, but not great. I was expecting more
