October 22, 2023 - My final bottle, and at 21 years this wine is, astoundingly, just beginning to enter maturity. Super expressive aromas of lime zest, bergamot, and flowers. The palate is medium light and concentrated crunchy salty lime grip, with the first signs of maturing Riesling quince jelly and cherry just creeping in. A touch of sweetness remains, buoyed by the substantial acidity and stony texture of the palate. The finish wafts out in waves of citrus fruits and flowers. This is shockingly youthful still, and I am envious of those of you who'll get to experience the ethereal heights in reaches with 5, 10, and more years in the cellar. Wondrous bottle.

June 2, 2023 - Sensational! Bright, limey riesling, just a touch of sweetness, bursting with energy.

March 29, 2023 - Beautiful nose of lime, peach, salty mineral, bing cherry. Rich, riper mouth than I was expecting. Nice salty finish with return to cherry and decent acidity though could use just a touch more acidity or else some bitter in the finish for my taste. But all said, in a great place right now.

March 1, 2023 - Nuits-Saint-Georges and Riesling - Q by Peter Chang (Q by Peter Chang - Bethesda, Maryland): Served blind. Light color. Expressive nose displaying generous white and yellow fruit, pear, white peach, lemon curd, cream, spicy spices and mineral. Excellent concentration, generous white and yellow fruit, rich, dense and fat, medium acidity and mineral, and a long sweet white and yellow fruit driven finish. My guess is the 03 as it is rich and fat. Not terribly complex but delicious.

January 11, 2023 - Less impressive than my last bottle. This time it seemed a bit soft and low in acid. Showing nice "age-appropriate" mature notes, but not much length.

July 8, 2022 - Purchased on released and perfectly cellared. Lovely color... slight golden color, but lighter than would be expected for a 20 year old wine. Baked apple, spice, slate, lime and citrus. Gorgeous texture and acidity. In a great spot; shows maturity but still a lot left in the tank.

September 2, 2021 - Pre CellarTracker purchase from Garagiste. Clear light yellow color. Nose of lemon peel, spring flowers, salt and stone with a touch of creamy vanilla and brown sugar. Initially a bit light this picked up weight on the palate with air. Flavors repeat the scents. Good acidity and a touch of sweetness on the long finish. Very nice. Should last much longer.

June 7, 2020 - light yellow; crisp honey lemon; mid weight texture; good zip which made this taste dryer than it objectively is. Many more years left.

December 16, 2019 - Weak and/or tired. The fruit wasn’t dried out yet but had greatly faded in intensity. The creamy texture needed some acidity but there was very little to be had. Not that much depth either.

June 29, 2019 - Some petroleum aromas in addition to lemon and lime. Nice acidity, typical for Saar, but mayby not as prominent as in other years. Semi sweet, silky and creamy. Long finish.
