June 17, 2022 - Slow ox for 30 min. Racy nose of rose, wild strawberry and herbs. The wine is medium bodied with good acidity and freshness. There is lovely cherry, strawberry, stone fruit, herbs coming to though. Not complex today but can age for 3-5 years.

February 1, 2022 - Strawberry, cherry; black pepper. Not much bouquet. Very light on the palate; a bit too much acid and not enough structure.

January 8, 2022 - Really liked this. Super easy to drink but very interesting too.

Brilliant ruby in the glass. Nose of ripe red fruits (especially strawberry) with hints of spice, something floral and mushroom as well. Palate was juicy allowing the fruit, spice and floral notes to shine. Noticed some silky tannin in the finish. Bottle disappeared quickly.

October 15, 2021 - Pop and pour, first experience with a Cote de Brouilly, picking up a Château Thivin from the SAQ. The wine was slightly chilled and served at cellar temperature.

Typical Gamay colours within the spectrum of red, purple, and brown.

On the nose: aromas of sweet candied cherries, some cinnamon, cloves and allspice, and some earthy notes.

On the palate: first impressions are wow! A blend of dark and red fruits, with a hint of bitterness on the mid palate, something floral. The finish is long with a nice spicy note. Acidity is medium, fuller bodied than the Lapierre Morgon.

An evening trip through Beaujolais, big fan of the Lapierre Morgon and this wonderful Cote de Brouilly from Chateau Thivin. Unfortunately the Chenas was not my cup of tea.

September 10, 2021 - Well made, very bright crunchy but the poster below that describes it as “un peu bonbon” has it about right. A bit sweet for my liking. Better with a touch of chill from 30 mins in the fridge.
