August 5, 2023 - Opened day before serving. One day one, the aromatics were already intense and seductive, but the tannins were still a bit too tight.
On day two, the perfumed violet and spice aromatics remain intact while the palate has become more approachable. Savory smoke, white pepper and black berries dominate the palate. The tannins are not fully resolved yet but the day of air has made it more in balance with the sour cherry acidity.
Fantastic steak wine, and a masterful blend from Bedrock. I'll save my other bottle for at least 5 years. -

May 28, 2023 - I fear I opened this too young. It’s got deep, almost black fruit with savory/olive/smoky component. Very primary at this point but the texture and weight suggests something great will unfurl with time. 92+

March 28, 2023 - Oak and smoke nose with dark fruits lurking underneath and and edge of burnt cedar. Two different notes - dark plum and bright cherry with a sour edge - hit you on the palate, opening up across the tongue and adding iron and minerals. Chewy tannins and a tang of black and blue fruits, then a brief metallic sheen before the black raspberry and oak kick in. Give it another year or two to come together and it’ll be great. 91+ points

March 3, 2023 - Dark berries, dried thyme, smoke, crispy bacon fat — Classic Syrah nose with a lot going on. The palate is rich and pretty ripe but feels balanced, and the wine feels really well constructed with acid to keep it all in check. It doesn’t have maybe that hyper specific single vineyard that many will look for, but the construction and various elements are great. I think this wine is excellent.

January 3, 2023 - Still just a baby, definitely recommend opening the day before or giving a LONG decant. Smells like California, some black pepper and a touch of bacon fat.
On the palate, black cherries and black pepper. Delicious wine, will revisit in a couple of years.1 person found this helpful Comment
