November 14, 2022 - Blend of Syrah 55%, Mourvedre 25%, and Grenache 20%. Heavy and dense, and somewhat vanilla\oaky.

July 31, 2022 - After a 2 hour double decant drinking very well just now. Will be better in few years.

March 5, 2022 - Big SMG. The extra oak has really beefed up this bad boy, but without tasting like an oak cocktail. Solid with pizza.

August 14, 2021 - I like Booker. Plenty of flavor, perfectly drinkable even young, and I love the Rhone varietals.

Having had several of the 22's, both across Booker's different blends and vintages, I'm sticking with the non-22's. There's just too much oak in the 22's for my taste. I'll have to let my remaining 22's age for a number of years and hope the oak mellows.

This wine had blackberries and other dark fruits, plenty of pepper, and a nice undercurrent of slate. I would have loved it if the vanilla were not so prominent over everything else.

Why the 92? My wife thought it was amazing and not too heavy on the oak.

June 26, 2021 - Nose of Tar, asphalt, wet asphalt, cinnamon — there’s a little more nuance out of the gate here. Still a decent amount of oak but the savoriness is balancing out here. Fruit preserves, blood orange take hold towards the finish. Higher tannins here. It drinks well now but I think this should evolve into something pretty unique.
