Community Tasting Notes 5

December 1, 2022 - Medium body, mineral notes, balanced, some length.

  • La Cave d'Argent Likes this wine: 90 points

June 24, 2022 - Comprised of 100% Cabernet Sauvignon, this opaque ruby wine offers intense aromas and flavors of black currants, fig, tree bark, bittersweet chocolate, tobacco and baking spices. Full-bodied, freshly acidic, proportionately oaked and without any heat from its 14.5% alcohol, it wraps its flavors with plentiful crunchy tannins that are pervasive on the mid-palate and lengthy back end. This well-crafted, well-priced Cab will benefit from a bit of patience. If you choose to pop the cork now, give it at least two hours of aeration. Drink 2025-2035.

February 4, 2022 - Bold. Tight and austere. Oak and dark fruit. Slightly opened up after an hour decant, but still needs more time.

  • Vino Loco Does not like this wine: 85 points

October 14, 2021 - Unmemorable nose - no distinguishable notes. Still quite tannic and has a burn on the finish - the alcohol dominates the palette. At the price point, it lacks complexity and depth of fruit. I don't think cellaring is going to fix it.

Day 2 - wine still underwhelms, bitter, acidic, no bueno.
