July 5, 2023 - Develop into a well integrated wine with a lovely touch of primary berry flavours and a softened oak tannin base. drinking well in 2023.
Needs decanting and settling. Quite heavy bottle sediment.

March 9, 2022 - Excellent. As much Penfolds as GSM.
    Colour: dark dusty red berries
Bouquet: sweet Grenache fruit up front, followed by spice, black pepper and coffee
Palate: similar to bouquet, full fruits and bodiy but balanced with alcohol and big softt tannins. Sweet fruit balanced by earthiness, oak and ageing, so that finish is dry, and long.

April 17, 2020 - Need to be decanted. screw cap. some sediment forms around the cap.
Colour: Nice deep dark with some browning tinge at the edge
    Nose: Nice fragrant sweet earthy
Palate: initial feel - round mouthful, earthy not jammy. soil earth ok. As it opened up, much better. May or may not have past its peak. But probably better earlier.

October 30, 2011 - A fantastic wine. Huge body, fruit, full in the mouth and long finish. Drank with a cassoulet

January 9, 2011 - Decanted 1hr, plum, blackberry and pepper on the nose. The palate opens with juicy grenache red plum and black cherry, shiraz takes over on the finish with blackberry and a peppery note. The tannins are grity and firm still. Not as concentrated as most aussi reds, but solid never the less.

April 13, 2009 - Very tight the day it was opened. Day 2 - wine really opened up. Good wine for the price

November 7, 2008 - Huge fan of this wine and an excellent value at around $15 per bottle. Drank it with pizza (olive oil, san marzano tomatoes, goat cheese, mozzarella, but no pizza sauce) and it was an excellent match. The acidity from the grenache was a perfect match

June 21, 2008 - Real nice crimson red color. /very nice berry palate with a bit of heat. I found this a really nice GSM blend. Was a nice gift from family, and enjoyed with Turkey tenderloin on the Grill. Would try again!

June 19, 2008 - Good fruit, good structure, medium body. Well-made but not terribly distinctive at this young age, except in how it is not as overdone as so much Australian stuff (as is the case with most Penfolds products). This clearly has the stuffing to go some time on its side, I actually wouldn't have minded saving some to taste tomorrow, just to see if it would have been worth the effort.

May 26, 2008 - This is, I believe, a GSM blend. Plum and raspberry on the nose. Overall nothing special. I think JM of WA gave it 91(?)
