March 30, 2024 - Gorgeous nose! Lemon curd, unripe pear, star fruit?, cardamom, and a great petrol note. Medium body, almost oily in texture, with a serious burst of pear, citrus, some under ripe white nectarine. Perhaps a minty note on the finish. Drinking very well. Exciting acidity. Good minerality.

September 23, 2023 - Pop and pour. Yellow-straw nearing golden-straw in color. Beautiful, expressive nose full of apple orchard and lemon zest.

High acid on the palate with medium-minus body. Starting to show some secondary characteristics, but full of fresh lemon, peach, quinine, and slate. Excellent concentration. Pure and piercing.

Maybe it's just me, but this is one of the better dry rieslings that I've had from the Finger Lakes, and I've had plenty of them. A no-brainer buy if I see it again.

September 19, 2023 - Note from consumption of leftover half bottle (on 9/22), three days later. Although slightly tired, this is a lovely fruit infused dry Riesling. Delicious. At the initial dinner tasting three evenings ago, this wine was well received by experienced tasters. (90-91).

June 24, 2023 - Prior bottle was 19 months ago and this wine has improved along the lines I'd hoped. Very aromatic on the nose with pear, lots of lemon and a good amount of minerals. Medium bodied with rounder, more expressive white apple than previously, offset with brighter white pear. The white peach through the middle is coming into focus as well. Tart citrus (especially lemon), acidity and earth/minerals through the finish. This has started to open up exactly as I'd hoped; especially as it warms a bit, shows more and more of the fruit profile, backed with citrus and acidity. Has the depth and structure to continue to improve along these lines. Next bottle for me will be Q4 2023/Q1 2024.

April 15, 2023 - Very dry, high-acid and lemon-forward on the palate with really sharp Riesling characteristics: a bit of phenols, some peach. Despite only a whisper of residual sugar it has a rich body—moreso than other Forges of this vintage. A very stony finish and no flab at all. Fine balance but in a strongly high-acid direction. I like it when Rieslings lean that way, so I liked this one a lot.

October 5, 2022 - No contemporaneous notes. 3rd of 4 bottles. Opened and recorked, consumed hours later. Rich with lots of grapefruit. I enjoyed this, but it was another bottle that did not show quite as well as my first, stunningly delicious, example.

August 23, 2022 - Light gold color. Aromas of lemon, wet stones and white flowers. Pallet features lemon pith, yellow golden delicious apple and apricot. Extremely mineral driven finish. There is a lack of acidity and the wine seems a bit flabby. Good wine, but I was expecting more.

August 6, 2022 - Bright, lively, and dry. We found this nicely in balance, but somewhat lacking in depth and complexity. Pleasant enough over three nights.

July 22, 2022 - No contemporaneous notes. Very good, but not quite as impressive as last bottle. ADDENDUM: Day 3 with chicken, rice and salad. Tart and delicious.

June 21, 2022 - Consistent with previous notes. One of the best Rieslings I’ve ever had.
