  Elegant, fine aromas and flavors of cassis, raspberry, rose, garrigue and fennel. Tightly wound on the palate, even after being open for several hours. Feels like 'fine wine' due to the integral structure wrapped around a core of fruit and secondary inner aromas. In this case, the mid-palate starts to ramp up, then tannins clamp down. Medium acidity, copious but very refined, noble tannins.
  
  Obviously this is one built for the cellar. However, this didn't come across as a wine where the concentration without a doubt will stand up to the structure. I didn't go back for more, despite the silly good price. Comes across in a fairly elegant, restrained style, and definitely should be held until at least it's 10th birthday. Note: not tasted from ideal stemware.

  October 20, 2023 - Still very young but very enjoyable after several hours of air. Very smooth, red fruit, cherries and raspberries, medium acidity. Potential to be stunning in a few years.

  September 17, 2023 - Eager to try young out of the 6-pack of ‘19s I indulged myself in getting as this is one of my favourite wines. 100% enjoyable (fresh fruit, med+ acidity for balance, smooth smooth smooth)…but hoping/expecting these will get better over time. Won’t revisit too soon - maybe again in ‘25. Until then…bon nuit Beaucastel!

  July 17, 2023 - Pride of the Neufs - the 19 Ch de Beaucastel is as mysterious & beguiling as it is complex & generous. A number of years since I last had this wine - incomprehensible given how highly drinkable this wine is. Darkish ruby, translucent in appearance. Nose sings w highly fragrant aromas red fruit - raspberries, sweet-touched cherries, garrigue, tad of alcohol, woodsmoke, rose petals, spice. Full-bodied, yet retained elegance, perfectly balanced palate, graceful w grip & energy, long finish laced w warm fruit & spice!

  June 25, 2023 - Young but easily accessible already. A 2 hour decant was enough to smooth out the initial rough edges. Dark red fruits and some herbal and floral notes. This is complex and fun to drink. Red cherries, kirsch, garrigue, lavender and rosemary. This paired perfectly with duck magret. I would love to try a much older version of this wine to compare
