January 15, 2024 - The missus tried to sneak this one by me when I was on my deathbed and she made Bahn Mi sandwiches (and the buns from scratch.)
I'm not a white wine drinker, but this is the only style that I enjoy. Still crisp and fresh with pleasant fruit.

March 16, 2023 - Pleasing smooth fruit, nice acidity but a bit too sweet. Still quite young.

October 25, 2022 - Served with pork schnitzel

Nose has strong petrol notes, promising .

Palate is rich mineral sweetness . Perfect acidity to clean up the sweetness at the end.
Long finish that begs you to come back for more.

    Would buy again

July 15, 2017 - 8/10 - Refer to prior notes. As good as I remember it... or maybe even a little more concentrated and yummy. Sad that it's my last bottle!

March 3, 2017 - The sweetness went perfectly with a slightly spicy Asian soup

(Schafer-Frohlich Spatlese Bock) German Dear Friends, I’ve received a large number of requests for top 2006’s since my UPDATE earlier this week so here you go - you’re not going to do much better for the money than this wine. It is a Spatlese with Auslese must-weight (in an Auslese vintage) and should age for decades.... VERY HIGHLY RECOMMENDED EXTREMELY LIMITED - only 28 cases left for the entire US 2006 Schafer-Frohlich Riesling Spatlese Bockenauer Felseneck Please give us your maximum number and we will allocate accordingly Thank you, Jon Rimmerman Garagiste Seattle, WA Germ9360

(Schafer-Frohlich Bockenauer Felseneck Spatlese) This was its usual brilliant self. This is the Ladainian Tomlinson of wine! It gets better every year to the point where this, I believe, will shatter QPR records for white wine. The '06 on day one starts off with a bit of sulfur but under that is a core of concentrated red fruits intermingled with bright pure tangerine and peach. There is a wonderful intense mineral character along with the typical intense Tim Frohlich acidity. The length, finesse and mid-palate are first class and put this in the top tier of Spatlesen from the vintage. On day three this wine really started to strut its stuff as the sulfur wore down and this was just a pure, incredibly tetxured, silky, complex and just darn amazing wine to drink. This has years to go before it enters its optimal drinking window but with some major air this is so much to commit infanticide on. Tim Frohlich is easily on the same mantle as Emrich-Schonleber and Donnhoff.
