January 29, 2020 - earthy, black fruit, older smell, feel and taste then the 2005; hints of cedar and smoke dominated, with dried fruit from start to finish and the dried mint leaves left a more herbaceous note behind on the finish.

September 9, 2009 - Couldn't get excited about this one. Slightly metallic whiff to the nose, medium body, medium color, some fruit, a bit too acidic. Not awful, but very ordinary. There are better wines in this price range.

March 13, 2008 - Dark cherry and plum with a little spice to it. Very hot on the finish - even after decanting. Seemed to open up with a touch of tobacco and is it pencil lead? Not bad for $8, but I prefer some of the other Montgras selections.

March 6, 2008 - Ruby purple in color. Subdued nose of dark fruit, cherries, and tobacco. Nice fruit flavor. A bit hot on the finish. Nothing great by any means, but a very nice $9 wine.
